The Margaritaville Margarita Machine

Margaritaville Bahamas DM0500 Frozen Concoction Maker

Would you like to make one perfect pitcher of margaritas?

With the Margarita Machine, Margaritaville DM0500 Bahamas™ Frozen Concoction® Maker, you just put in enough ice for one pitcher’s worth in the hopper and put the ingredients in the blending jar. You will get the 36 oz. pitcher of drinks blended perfectly with shaved ice.

There is an automatic setting to add just the right amount of ice for the ingredients. You won’t have to memorize the amounts. You won’t have to look them up in a table. But if you want to be in control, you can use the manual control to make the drinks to your own preferences.

This is the simplest and least expensive of the Margaritaville models. It’s major shortcoming is that it isn’t convenient for major entertaining–you have to reload the hopper with ice for every pitcher—and it isn’t convenient for preparing less than a pitcher’s worth.

Purchasers have given it it a rating of 4.6 out of five stars at Amazon. Almost all of the reviews are raves.

Only a hand full had anything negative to say, for example: One low rating came from someone who found it did not live up to their very high expectations. One very low rating was that their margarita machine had broken down after it had gone out of warranty, although they confessed it did work well before then.

As for the other Margaritaville makers,  the Margaritaville Machine  DM1000 is a step up from the DM0500 in that you can choose one or two drinks as well as a full pitcher. The Margaritaville frozen concoction maker DM2000 has automatic settings to blend four kinds of frozen drinks, those involving only fluid ingredients, and those involving fluids plus frozen fruit (daiquiris), ice cream (mud slides), or fresh fruit and ice cream (smoothies). The DM2000 also can make one or two 12-ounce glasses as well as a full pitcher. The Margaritaville DM3000 is for much heavier entertaining. It can fill up to three different 2-drink pitchers with different concoctions at the same time.

If convenient, when I recommend a product or service, I include an affiliate link to it. That means, if someone clicks on the link and makes a purchase, the vendor pays me something out of their advertising budget. I’d be a fool not to. If the product isn’t excellent, I won’t include a link; I probably won’t mention it at all.
